Yency Almonte traded to White Sox
Yency Almonte was traded by the Los Angeles Angels to the Chicago White Sox on February 4, 2015 to complete the earlier Gordon Beckham deal. RHP Almonte split 2014 between Rookie Arizona and Class A Burlington. He was 0-1, 17.18 ERA, 5 K, 2.18 WHIP, .467 BAA in 3.2 IP over 2 games at Arizona and 2-5, 4.93 ERA, 32 K, 1.29 WHIP, .252 BAA in 42.0 IP over 9 games at Burlington. Arquimedes Caminero traded to Pirates

David Hale traded to Rockies
David Hale was traded by the Atlanta Braves to the Colorado Rockies on July 30, 2015 along with Gus Schlosser. In exchange the Braves received Jose Briceno and Chris O'Dowd.

College Spotlight 022315
The 2015 college baseball season is under way and this is the fourth year of my doing a College Spotlight segment where I will feature one position player and one pitcher each week. The first two to be featured this year are outfielder Casey Hughton of Alabama and RHP Preston Morrison of Texas Christian University.
Hughston is a sophomore outfielder for the Crimson Tide from Baker High School in Mobile, AL. He has started off the season with six straight multi-hit games including two 4 for 4 performances. That has propelled him to the front of the pack with the best batting average of .720, the second most hits at 18 and tied for fifth in doubles with six. This season he is hitting .720/.724/1.160 with 1 HR, 11 RBI, 11 R, 2 SB in 6 games. Last season as a freshman he hit .270/.302/.402 with 4 HR, 25 RBI, 17 R, 0 SB in 52 games. Alabama has started the season 4-2.
RHP Morrison is a senior Horned Frog from Cuthburtson High School in Waxhaw, NC. He is coming off one of the top national performances of the week as he shut out Arizona State last friday 3-0. His line for the game was 9.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K in 87 pitches. For the season he is now 2-0, 0.00 ERA, 8 K, 0.56 WHIP, .118 BAA in 16.0 IP over 2 games. Last season as a junior he was 9-4, 1.32 ERA, 95 K, 0.86 WHIP, .197 BAA in 129.2 IP over 18 games with five complete games. He is establishing himself as the ace for top ranked TCU who is 6-1.

Hector Daniel Rodriguez traded to Orioles
Hector Daniel Rodriguez was traded by the Atlanta Braves to the Baltimore Orioles on January 23, 2015 for cash. LHP Rodriguez pitched in 2014 at Triple A Gwinnett where he was 6-13, 5.04 ERA, 111 K, 1.46 WHIP, .276 BAA in 125.0 IP over 29 games. He originally signed a minor league contract with the Braves in 2012 after pitching in the Mexican League. Rodriguez turned 30 on December 11.
Carlos Corporan traded to Rangers
Carlos Corporan was traded by the Houston Astros to the Texas Rangers on January 21, 2015. In exchange the Astros received Akeem Bostick.

Yovani Gallardo was traded by the Milwaukee Brewers to the Texas Rangers on December 19, 2015 along with cash. In exchange the Brewers received Corey Knebel, Luis Sardinas and Marcos Diplan.

Tyler Clippard traded to Athletics
Tyler Clippard was traded by the Washington Nationals to the Oakland Athletics on January 14, 2015. In exchange the Nationals received Yunel Escobar.

Jimmy Rollins traded to Dodgers
Jimmy Rollins was traded by the Philadelphia Phillies to the Los Angeles Dodgers on December 19, 2014 along with cash. In exchange the Phillies received Tom Windle and Zach Eflin.
