Jared Cruz traded to Astros

Jared Cruz was traded by the Atlanta Braves to the Houston Astros on September 4, 2014. This completed an earlier deal that sent Andrew Robinson to the Braves on July 3rd.

1B\2B played at Rookie Gulf Coast where he hit .182/.267/.212 with 0 HR, 4 RBI, 4 R, 1 SB in 24 games. He originally signed with the Braves in 2013 as an amateur free agent out of Australia. Cruz will be 20 on March 29.

RHP Robinson split 2014 prior to the trade between Double A Corpus Christi and Triple A Oklahoma City as he was 4-2, 1.89 ERA, 32 K, 1.26 WHIP, .240 BAA, 2 SV in in 33.1 IP over 20 games at Corpus Christi and 0-2, 4.50 ERA, 7 K, 1.13 WHIP, .273 BAA, 1 SV in 8.0 IP over 6 games at Oklahoma City. After the trade he pitched at Double A Mississippi and was 5-0, 2.54 ERA, 29 K, 1.06 WHIP, .243 BAA, 1 SV in 28.1 IP over 17 games. He was originally drafted by the Astros in the 12th round in 2010. Robinson will be 27 on February 13.
