Reymond Fuentes traded to Royals

Reymond Fuentes was traded by the San Diego Padres to the Kansas City Royals on November 20, 2014. In exchange the Padres received Kyle Bartsch.

Fuentes is an outfielder who split 2014 between Double A San Antonio and Triple A El Paso. He hit .324/.386/.453 with 4 HR, 17 RBI, 25 R, 12 SB in 42 games at San Antonio and .261/.337/.376 with 1 HR, 16 RBI, 29 R, 13 SB in 46 games. He did have some time with the Padres in 2013 as he hit .152/.222/.152 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 4 R, 3 SB in 23 games. He was originally drafted by the Red Sox with the 28th pick of the first round in 2009. Fuentes will be 24 on February 12.

LHP Bartsch pitched in 2014 at Class A Advanced Wilmington as he was 5-5, 2.29 ERA, 52 K, 1.04 WHIP, .227 BAA, 7 SV in 55.0 IP over 41 games. He was originally drafted by the Royals in the seventh round in 2013. Bartsch will be 24 on March 10.
