Matt Joyce traded to Angels

Matt Joyce was traded by the Tampa Bay Rays to the Los Angeles Angels on December 16, 2014. In exchange the Rays received Kevin Jepsen.

Joyce is an outfielder who in 2014 hit .254/.349/.383 with 9 HR, 52 RBI, 51 R, 2 SB in 140 games with the Rays. Over seven MLB seasons with the Rays and Tigers he hit .250/.342/.441 with 88 HR, 313 RBI, 309 R, 29 SB in 725 games. He was originally drafted by the Tigers in the 12th round in 2005 and traded to the Rays in 2008. Joyce will be 31 on August 3rd. 

RHP Jepsen in 2014 was 0-2, 2.63 ERA, 75 K, 1.05 WHIP, .192 BAA, 2 SV in 65.0 IP over 74 games with the Angels. Over seven MLB seasons with the Angels he was 13-18, 3.94 ERA, 271 K, 1.36 WHIP, .256 BAA, 5 SV in 280.2 IP over 315 games. He was originally drafted by the Angels in the second round in 2002. Jepsen will be 31 on July 26.
