Michael Saunders traded to Blue Jays

Michael Saunders was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Toronto Blue Jays on December 3, 2014. In exchange the Mariners received. J.A. Happ.

Saunders in an outfielder who split 2014 between Triple A Tacoma while rehabbing and the Mariners.He hit .327/.479/.473 with 1 HR, 9 RBI, 11 R, 0 SB in 15 games at Tacoma and .273/.341/.450 with 8 HR, 34 RBI, 38 R, 4 SB in 78 games with the Mariners. Over six MLB seasons with the Mariners he hit .231/.301/.384 with 51 HR, 182 RBI, 226 R, 54 SB in 553 games. He was originally drafted by the Mariners in the 11th round in 2004. Saunders turned 28 on November 19.

LHP Happ split 2014 between Class A Advanced Dunedin and Triple A Buffalo while rehabbing and the Blue Jays. He was 1-0, 3.60 ERA, 5 K, 0.80 WHIP, .176 BAA in 5.0 IP in 1 game at Dunedin, 0-0, 1.93 ERA, 6 K, 1.50 WHIP, .278 BAA in 4.2 IP in 1 game at Buffalo and 11-11, 4.22 ERA, 133 K, 1.34 WHIP, .261 BAA in 158.0 IP over 30 games with the Blue Jays. Over eight MLB seasons with the Blue Jays, Astros and Phillies he is 51-53, 4.24 ERA, 708 K, 1.39 WHIP, .254 BAA in 840.2 IP over 164 games. He was originally drafted by the Phillies in the third round in 2004, traded to the Astros in 2010 and traded to the Blue Jays in 2012. Happ turned 32 on October 19.
