Danny Rosenbaum traded to Red Sox

Danny Rosenbaum was traded by the Washington Nationals to the Boston Red Sox on January 14, 2015. In exchange the Nationals received Dan Butler.

LHP Rosenbaum pitched at Triple A Syracuse before having Tommy John surgery. He was 1-1, 4.50 ERA, 9 K, 1.35 WHIP, .272 BAA in 20.0 IP over 4 games at Syracuse. He was originally drafted by the Nationals in the 22nd round in 2009. Rosenbaum will be 28 on October 10.

Butler is a catcher who split 2014 between Triple A Pawtucket and the Red Sox. He hit .241/.317/.350 with 4 HR, 30 RBI, 35 R, 0 SB in 83 games at Pawtucket and .211/.250/.368 with 0 HR, 2 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 7 games with the Red Sox. His minor league caught stealing rate was 31%. He originally signed with the Red Sox in 2009 as a non-drafted free agent. Butler will be 29 on October 17.
