Chris Heisey was traded by the Cincinnati Reds to the Los Angeles Dodgers on December 2, 2014. In exchange the Reds received Matt Magill.
Heisey is an outfielder who in 2014 hit .222/.265/.378 with 8 HR, 22 RBI, 34 R, 9 SB in 119 games with the Reds. Over five MLB seasons with the Reds he hit .247/.299/.422 with 50 HR, 147 RBI, 184 R, 25 SB in 543 games. He was originally drafted by the Reds in the 17th round in 2006. Heisey turned 30 on December 14.
RHP Magill pitched in 2014 at Triple A Albuquerque where he was 7-6, 5.21 ERA, 70 K, 1.64 WHIP, .254 BAA in 84.2 IP over 36 games. He did have a stint with the Dodgers in 2013 when he was 0-2, 6.51 ERA, 26 K, 1.99 WHIP, .257 BAA in 27.2 IP over 6 games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the 31st round in 2008. Magill turned 25 on November 10.
