Josh Rutledge traded to Angels

Josh Rutledge was traded by the Colorado Rockies to the Los Angeles Angels on December 11, 2014. In exchange the Rockies received Jairo Diaz.

Rutledge is a SS/2B who split 2014 between Triple A Colorado Springs and the Rockies. He hit .333/.413/.444 with 1 HR, 5 RBI, 7 R, 3 SB in 15 games at Colorado Springs and .269/.323/.405 with 4 HR, 33 RBI, 44 R, 2 SB in 105 games with the Rockies. Over three MLB seasons with the Rockies he hit .259/.308/.403 with 19 HR, 89 RBI, 126 R, 21 SB in 266 games. He was originally drafted by the Rockies in the third round in 2010. Rutledge will be 26 on April 21.

RHP Diaz split 2014 between Class A Advanced Inland Empire, Double A Arkansas and the Angels. He was 2-3, 4.78 ERA, 37 K, 1.28 WHIP, .244 BAA, 4 SV in 32.0 IP over 29 games at Inland Empire, 2-1, 2.20 ERA, 48 K, 1.22 WHIP, .252 BAA, 11 SV in 32.2 IP over 27 games at Arkansas and 0-0, 3.18 ERA, 8 K, 1.24 WHIP, .200 BAA in 5.2 IP over 5 games with the Angels. He originally signed with the Angels in 2007 as an amatuer free agent out of Venezuela. Diaz will be 24 on May 27.
