Nathan Eovaldi was traded by the Miami Marlins to the New York Yankes on December 19, 2014 along with Garrett Jones and Domingo German. In exchange the Marlins received David Phelps and Martin Prado.
RHP Eovaldi in 2014 was 6-14, 4.37 ERA, 142 K, 1.33 WHIP, .282 BAA in 199.2 IP over 33 games with the Marlins. Over four MLB seasons with the Marlins and Dodgers he was 15-35, 4.07 ERA, 321 K, 1.38 WHIP, .271 BAA in 460.0 IP over 83 games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the 11th round in 2008 and traded to the Marlins in 2012. Eovaldi turned 25 on February 13.
Jones is a 1B\OF who in 2014 hit .246/.309/.411 with 15 HR, 53 RBI, 59 R, 0 SB in 146 games with the Marlins. Over seven MLB seasons with the Marlins, Pirates and Twins he has hit .253/.314/.450 with 117 HR, 383 RBI, 335 R, 28 SB in 854 games. He was originally drafted by the Braves in the 14th round in 1999. Jones will be 34 on June 21.
RHP German pitched in 2014 at Class A Greensboro where he was 9-3, 2.48 ERA, 113 K, 1.14 WHIP, .249 BAA in 123.1 IP over 25 games. He originally signed with the Marlins in 2009 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. German will be 23 on August 4th.
RHP Phelps in 2014 was 5-5, 4.38 ERA, 92 K, 1.43 WHIP, .250 BAA, 1 SV in 113.0 IP over 32 games with the Yankees. Over three MLB seasons with the Yankees he was 15-14, 4.21 ERA, 267 K, 1.35 WHIP, .251 BAA in 299.1 IP over 87 games. He was originally drafted by the Yankees in the 14th round in 2008. Phelps will be 29 on October 9th.
Prado is a 3B\2B\OF who split 2014 with the Diamondbacks and Yankees. He hit 270/.317/.370 with 5 HR, 42 RBI, 44 R, 2 SB in 106 games with the Diamondbacks, was traded to the Yankees in July and hit .316/.336/.541 with 7 HR, 16 RBI, 18 R, 1 SB in 37 games with the Yankees. Over nine MLB seasosn with the Yankees, Diamondbacks and Braves he has hit .291/.340/.429 with 78 HR, 426 RBI, 487 R, 36 SB in 981 games. He originally signed with the Braves in 2001 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Prado will be 32 on October 27.
