Ryan Hanigan traded to Red Sox

Ryan Hanigan was traded by the San Diego Padres to the Boston Red Sox on December 20, 2014. In exchange the Padres received Will Middlebrooks.

Hanigan has been traded the the Padres the previous day.

Middlebrooks is a third baseman who split 2014 between Triple A Pawtucket and the Red Sox. He hit .231/.277/.375 with 4 HR, 8 RBI, 13 R, 0 SB in 29 games at Pawtucket and .191/.256/.265 with 2 HR, 19 RBI, 14 R, 1 SB in 63 games with the Red Sox. Over three MLB seasons with the Red Sox he hit .237/.284/.411 with 34 HR, 122 RBI, 89 R, 8 SB in 232 games. He was originally drafted by the Red Sox in the fifth round in 2007. Middlebrooks will be 27 on September 9th.
