Franklin Morales traded to Rockies.

Franklin Morales was traded by the Boston Red Sox to the Colorado Rockies on December 18, 2013 along with Chris Martin. In exchange the Red Sox received Jonathan Herrera.

LHP Morales has seven seasons MLB experience pitching with the Red Sox and Rockies. He split 2013 between Class A Greenville, Double A Portland, and Triple A Pawtucket while rehabbing and with the Red Sox. He was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 K, 1.00 WHIP in 3.0 IP in 1 game at Greenville, was 1-0, 1.12 ERA, 7 K, 1.50 WHIP in 8.0 IP over 3 games at Portland, was 0-1, 4.76 ERA, 12 K, 0.71 WHIP in 11.1 IP over 5 games at Pawtucket and was 2-2, 4.62 ERA, 21 K, 1.54 WHIP in 25.1 IP over 20 games with the Red Sox. For his MLB career he is 13-18, 4.38 ERA, 242 K, 1.42 WHIP, 11 SV in 281.1 IP over 195 games. He originally signed with the Rockies in 2002 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Morales will be 28 on January 24.

RHP Martin split 2013 between Double A Portland and Triple A Pawtucket. He was 2-0, 0.00 ERA, 27 K, 0.71 WHIP, 3 SV in 21.0 IP over 12 games at Portland and was 3-3, 3.18 ERA, 47 K, 1.20 WHIP, 2 SV in 51.0 IP over 30 games at Pawtucket. He was originally drafted by the Rockies in the 21st round in 2005. Martin turned 27 on June 2nd.

Herrera is a 2B\SS\3B with five seasons MLB experience playing with the Rockies. In 2013 he hit .292/.336/.364 with 1 HR, 16 RBI, 16 R, 3 SB in 81 games. For his MLB career he has hit .265/.325/.332 with 8 HR, 66 RBI, 112 R, 14 SB in 375 games. He originally signed with the Rockies in 2002 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Herrera turned 29 on November 3rd.
