Jerry Hairston Jr Retires
Jerry Hairston Jr announced his retirement from playing baseball in November 2013. The 3B\OF\2B had 16 seasons MLB experience playing with the Orioles (1998-2004), Cubs (2005-2006), Rangers (2006-2007), Reds (2008-2009), Yankees (2009), Padres (2010), Nationals (2011), Brewers (2011) and Dodgers (2012-2013). In 2013 he hit .211/.265/.275 with 2 HR, 22 RBI, 17 R, 0 SB in 96 games. For his MLB career he hit .257/.324/.368 with 70 HR, 420 RBI, 580 R, 147 SB in 1442 games. He was originally drafted by the Orioles in the 11th round in 1997. Hairston was 37 at the time of his retirement.
