2013 Where are they now 2008 MLB draft picks 41 to 46

The 2013 season is behind us and I'm checking how picks 41 to 46 (which closed out the first round) of the 2008 draft did this season. Traditionally players drafted out of college advance faster than those drafted out of high school and pitchers usually advance faster than position players. Some players might also be traded to help their team get an established player that can help their team improve immediately.

The Chicago Cubs drafted shortstop Ryan Flaherty 41st out of Vanderbilt. He was selected by the Orioles in the 2011 Rule 5 draft. He split 2013 between Class A Delmarva, Class A Advanced Frederick and Triple A Norfolk while rehabbing and with the Orioles. He hit .250/.250/.375 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 2 games at Delmarva, hit .286/.286/.714 with 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 2 games at Frederick, hit .265/.286/.471 with 2 HR, 5 RBI, 4 R, 0 SB in 8 games at Norfolk and hit .224/.293/.390 with 10 HR, 27 RBI, 28 R, 2 SB in 85 games with the Orioles.

The San Diego Padres drafted outfielder Jaff Decker 42nd out of Sunrise Mountain High School in Peoria, AZ. He split 2013 between Triple A Tucson and the Padres. He hit .286/.381/.443 with 10 HR, 40 RBI, 63 R, 4 SB in 105 games at Tucson and hit .154/.233/.269 with 1 HR, 2 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB in 13 games with the Padres.

The Arizona Diamondbacks drafted LHP Wade Miley 43rd out of Southeastern Louisiana University. He pitched in 2013 with the Diamondbacks. He was 10-10, 3.55 ERA, 147 K, 1.32 WHIP in 202.2 IP over 33 games.

The New York Yankees drafted LHP Jeremy Bleich 44th out of Stanford. He pitched in 2013 at Double A Trenton. He was 2-1, 2.76 ERA, 57 K, 1.47 WHIP, 2 SV in 65.1 IP over 27 games.

The Boston Red Sox drafted RHP Bryan Price 45th out of Rice. He was traded to the Indians in 2009. He split 2013 between Double A Akron and Triple A Columbus. He was 1-0, 0.56 ERA, 17 K, 0.63 WHIP, 2 SV in 16.0 IP over 12 games at Akron and was 1-3, 2.44 ERA, 75 K, 1.07 WHIP, 2 SV in 59.0 IP over 35 games at Columbus.

The San Diego Padres drafted third baseman John Logan Forsythe 46th out of Arkansas-Fayetteville. He split 2013 between Triple A Tucson and the Padres. He hit .360/.515/.840 with 2 HR, 5 RBI, 6 R, 0 SB in 8 games at Tucson and hit .214/.281/.332 with 6 HR, 19 RBI, 22 R, 6 SB in 75 games with the Padres.
