2013 Where are they now 2011 MLB draft picks 41 to 50

The 2013 season is behind us and I'm checking how picks 41 to 50 of the 2011 draft did this season. Traditionally players drafted out of college advance faster than those drafted out of high school and pitchers usually advance faster than position players. Some players might also be traded to help their team get an established player that can help their team improve immediately.

The Tampa Bay Rays drafted third baseman Tyler Goeddel 41st out of Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, CA. He played in 2013 at Class A Bowling Green. He hit .249/.313/.389 with 7 HR, 65 RBI, 63 R, 30 SB in 112 games.

The Tampa Bay Rays drafted RHP Jeff Ames 42nd out of Lower Columbia College. He pitched in 2013 at Class A Bowling Green. He was 9-4, 2.98 ERA, 83 K, 1.09 WHIP in 114.2 IP over 23 games.

The Arizona Diamondbacks drafted LHP Andrew Chafin 43rd out of Kent State. He split 2013 between Class A Advanced Visalia and Double A Mobile. He was 3-1, 4.65 ERA, 32 K, 1.48 WHIP in 31.0 IP over 6 games at Visalia and was 10-7, 2.85 ERA, 87 K, 1.26 WHIP in 126.1 IP over 21 games at Mobile.

The New York Mets drafted RHP Michael Fulmer 44th out of Deer Creek High School in Edmond, OK. He split 2013 between Rookie Gulf Coast and Class A Advanced St Lucie. He was 1-1, 3.00 ERA, 13 K, 0.83 WHIP in 12.0 IP over 2 games at Gulf Coast and was 2-2, 3.44 ERA, 29 K, 1.24 WHIP in 34.0 IP over 7 games at St Lucie.

The Colorado Rockies drafted shortstop Trevor Story 45th out of Irving High School in Irving, TX. He played in 2013 at Class A Advanced Modesto. He hit .233/.305/.394 with 12 HR, 65 RBI, 71 R, 23 SB in 130 games.

The Toronto Blue Jays drafted RHP Joe Musgrove 46th out of Grossmont High School in El Cajon, CA. He was traded to the Astros in 2012. He pitched in 2013 at Rookie Gulf Coast. He was 1-3, 4.41 ERA, 30 K, 1.44 WHIP in 32.2 IP over 11 games.

The Chicago White Sox drafted outfielder Keenyn Walker 47th out of Central Arizona College. He played in 2013 at Double A Birmingham. He hit .201/.319/.277 with 3 HR, 32 RBI, 77 R, 38 SB in 130 games.

The San Diego Padres drafted RHP Michael Kelly 48th out of West Boca Raton Community High School in Boca Raton, FL. He split 2013 between Class A Fort Wayne and Class A Eugene. He was 2-1, 5.00 ERA, 16 K, 1.61 WHIP in 18.0 IP over 15 games at Fort Wayne and was 1-1, 6.10 ERA, 33 K, 1.85 WHIP in 38.1 IP over 18 games at Eugene.

The San Francisco Giants drafted RHP Kyle Crick 49th out of Sherman High School in Sherman, TX. He pitched in 2013 at Class A Advanced San Jose. He was 3-1, 1.57 ERA, 95 K, 1.27 WHIP in 68.2 IP over 14 games.

The Minnesota Twins drafted third baseman Travis Harrison 50th out of Tustin High School in Tustin, CA. He played in 2013 at Class A Cedar Rapids. He hit .253/.366/.416 with 15 HR, 59 RBI, 66 R, 2 SB in 129 games.
