Franklin Morales traded to Rockies.

Franklin Morales was traded by the Boston Red Sox to the Colorado Rockies on December 18, 2013 along with Chris Martin. In exchange the Red Sox received Jonathan Herrera.

LHP Morales has seven seasons MLB experience pitching with the Red Sox and Rockies. He split 2013 between Class A Greenville, Double A Portland, and Triple A Pawtucket while rehabbing and with the Red Sox. He was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 K, 1.00 WHIP in 3.0 IP in 1 game at Greenville, was 1-0, 1.12 ERA, 7 K, 1.50 WHIP in 8.0 IP over 3 games at Portland, was 0-1, 4.76 ERA, 12 K, 0.71 WHIP in 11.1 IP over 5 games at Pawtucket and was 2-2, 4.62 ERA, 21 K, 1.54 WHIP in 25.1 IP over 20 games with the Red Sox. For his MLB career he has hit .265/.325/.332 with 8 HR, 66 RBI, 112 R, 14 SB in 375 games. He originally signed with the Rockies in 2002 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Herrera turned 29 on November 3rd.
