Justin Ruggiano traded to Cubs

Justin Ruggiano was traded by the Miami Marlins to the Chicago Cubs on December 12, 2013. In exchange the Marlins received Brian Bogusevic.

Ruggiano is an outfielder with five seasons MLB experience playing with the Marlins and Rays. In 2013 he hit .222/.298/.396 with 18 HR, 50 RBI, 49 R, 15 SB in 128 games. For his MLB career he has hit .251/.315/.432 with 37 HR, 109 RBI, 109 R, 32 SB in 317 games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the 25th round in 2004. Ruggiano turned 31 on April 12.

Bogusevic is an outfielder with four seasons MLB experience playing with the Cubs and Astros. He split 2013 between Rookie Arizona, Triple A Iowa and the Cubs. He hit .400/.531/.640 with 0 HR, 5 RBI, 7 R, 3 SB in 7 games at Arizona, hit .317/.416/.506 with 10 HR, 32 RBI, 50 R, 16 SB in 79 games at Iowa and hit .273/.323/.462 with 6 HR, 16 RBI, 18 R, 2 SB in 47 games with the Cubs. He was originally drafted by the Astros with the 24th pick in the first round in 2005. Bogusevic will be 30 on February 18.
