Corey Brown traded to Athletics
Corey Brown was traded by the Washington Nationals to the Oakland Athletics on December 19, 2013 for cash. Brown is an outfielder with three partial seasons MLB experience playing with the Nationals. He spit 2013 between Triple A Syracuse and the Nationals. He hit .254/.326/.473 with 19 HR, 56 RBI, 57 R, 12 SB in 107 games at Syracuse and hit .167/.333/.500 with 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2 R, 1 SB in 14 games with the Nationals. For his MLB career he has hit .175/.250/.400 with 2 HR, 4 RBI, 6 R, 1 SB in 36 games. He was originally drafted by the Athletics with the 59th pick of the first round in 2007. He was traded to the Nationals in 2010. Brown turned 28 on November 26.
