The 2013 season is behind us and I'm checking how picks 21 to 32 of the 2010 draft did this season. Traditionally players drafted out of college advance faster than those drafted out of high school and pitchers usually advance faster than position players. Some players might also be traded to help their team get an established player that can help their team improve immediately.
The Minnesota Twins drafted RHP Alex Wimmers 21st out of Ohio State. He pitched at Rookie Gulf Coast after returning from Tommy John surgery. He was 0-1, 7.20 ERA, 18 K, 2.00 WHIP in 15.0 IP over 6 games.
The Texas Rangers drafted catcher Kellin Deglan 22nd out of R.E. Mountain Secondary School in Canada. He played in 2013 at Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach. He hit .231/.331/.723 with 12 HR, 49 RBI, 37 R, 0 SB in 89 games.
The Florida Marlins drafted outfielder Christian Yelich 23rd out of Westlake High School in Westlake Village, CA. He split 2013 between Rookie Gulf Coast, Class A Advanced Jupiter, Double A Jacksonville and the Marlins. He hit .294/.333/.412 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 5 games at Gulf Coast, hit .231/.333/.462 with 2 HR, 4 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB in 7 games at Jupiter, hit .280/.365/.518 with 7 HR, 29 RBI, 33 R, 5 SB in 49 games at Jacksonville and hit .288/.370/.396 with 4 HR, 16 RBI, 34 R, 10 SB in 62 games with the Marlins.
The San Francisco Giants drafted outfielder Gary Brown 24th out of Cal State Fullerton. He played in 2013 at Triple A Fresno. He hit .279/.347/.385 with 7 HR, 42 RBI, 73 R, 33 SB in 134 games.
The St Louis Cardinals drafted third baseman Zack Cox 25th out of Arkansas. He split 2012 between the Cardinals and Marlins organizations after he was traded in July. He split 2013 between Double A Jacksonville and Triple A New Orleans. He hit .269/.357/.367 with 3 HR, 29 RBI, 32 R, 2 SB in 86 games at Jacksonville and hit .000/.167/.000 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 0 R, 0 SB in 2 games at New Orleans.
The Colorado Rockies drafted outfielder Kyle Parker 26th out of Clemson. He played in 2013 at Double A Tulsa. He hit .288/.345/.492 with 23 HR, 74 RBI, 70 R, 6 SB in 123 games.
The Philadelphia Phillies drafted LHP Jesse Biddle 27th out of Germantown Friends High School in Philadelphia, PA. He pitched the 2013 at Double A Reading. He was 15-14, 3.64 ERA, 154 K, 1.35 WHIP in 138.1 IP over 27 games.
The Los Angeles Dodgers drafted RHP Zach Lee 28th out of McKinney High School in McKinney, TX. He pitched in 2013 at Double A Chattanooga. He was 10-10, 3.22 ERA, 131 K, 1.17 WHIP in 142.2 IP over 28 games at Chattanooga.
The Los Angeles Angels drafted RHP Cam Bedrosian 29th out of East Coweta High School in Sharpsburg, GA. He split 2013 between Class a Burlington and Class A Advanced Inland Empire. He was 1-5, 5.30 ERA, 69 K, 1.42 WHIP, 7 SV in 54.1 IP over 37 games at Burlington and was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 9 K, 1.27 WHIP in 8.2 IP over 7 games at Inland Empire.
The Los Angeles Angels also drafted outfielder Chevy Clarke 30th out of Marietta High School in Marietta, GA. He played in 2013 at Class A Burlington. He hit .227/.313/.323 with 7 HR, 39 RBI, 50 R, 15 SB in 124 games.
The Tampa Bay Rays drafted catcher Justin O'Conner 31st out of Cown High School in Muncie, IN. He played 2013 at Class A Bowling Green. He hit .233/.290/.381 with 14 HR, 56 RBI, 49 R, 5 SB in 102 games.
The New York Yankees drafted shortstop Cito Culver 32nd out of West Irondequoit High School in Rochester, NY. He split 2013 between Class A Charleston and Class A Advanced Tampa. He hit .232/.312/.344 with 8 HR, 29 RBI, 57 R, 13 SB in 104 games at Charleston and hit .355/.394/.484 with 1 HR, 5 RBI, 13 R, 0 SB in 16 games at Tampa.
