2013 Where are they now 2008 MLB draft picks 21 to 30

The 2013 season is behind us and I'm checking how picks 21 to 30 of the 2008 draft did this season. Traditionally players drafted out of college advance faster than those drafted out of high school and pitchers usually advance faster than position players. Some players might also be traded to help their team get an established player that can help their team improve immediately.

The Detroit Tigers drafted RHP Ryan Perry 21st out of Arizona. He was traded to the Nationals in 2011. He split 2013 between Double A Harrisburg and Triple A Syracuse. He was 2-5, 4.43 ERA, 22 K, 1.21 WHIP, 2 SV in 22.1 IP over 18 games at Harrisburg and was 1-4, 7.93 ERA, 27 K, 1.83 WHIP in 42.0 IP over 12 games at Syracuse.

The New York Mets drafted shortstop Reese Havens 22nd out of South Carolina. He played in 2013 at Triple A Las Vegas while missing much of the season with a back injury. He hit .237/.312/.330 with 1 HR, 8 RBI, 9 R, 1 SB in 38 games.

The San Diego Padres drafted first baseman Allan Dykstra 23rd out of Wake Forest. He was traded to the Mets in 2011. He played in 2013 at Double A Binghamton. He hit .274/.436/.503 with 21 HR, 82 RBI, 56 R, 0 SB in 122 games.

The Philadelphia Phillies drafted shortstop Anthony Hewitt 24th out of Salisbury School in Salisbury, CT. He played in 2013 at Double A Reading. He hit .244/.296/.430 with 16 HR, 51 RBI, 50 R, 21 SB in 116 games.

The Colorado Rockies drafted LHP Christian Friedrich 25th out of Eastern Kentucky University. He pitched in 2013 at Triple A Colorado Springs while missing much of the season with a back injury. He was 0-1, 4.30 ERA, 8 K, 1.43 WHIP in 14.2 IP over 4 games.

The Arizona Diamondbacks drafted LHP Daniel Schlereth 26th out of Arizona. He was traded in 2009 to the Tigers. He signed with the Orioles as a free agent in December 2012. He pitched in 2013 at Triple A Norfolk. He was 2-0, 0.82 ERA, 7 K, 1.27 WHIP in 11.0 IP over 12 games.

The Minnesota Twins drafted RHP Carlos Gutierrez 27th out of Miami. The Cubs claimed him off waivers in October 2012. He split 2013 between Rookie Arizona, Class A Advanced Daytona and Double A Tennessee. He was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 K, 0.50 WHIP in 2.0 IP in 1 game at Arizona, was 0-0, 1.50 ERA, 3 K, 0.83 WHIP, 1 SV in 6.0 IP over 3 games at Daytona and was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 K, 1.64 WHIP, 1 SV in 3.2 IP over 2 games at Tennessee.

The New York Yankees drafted RHP Gerrit Cole 28th out of Orange Lutheran High School in California. He went unsigned and pitched at UCLA. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates with the first overall pick in 2011. He split 2013 between Triple A Indianapolis and the Pirates. He was 5-3, 2.91 ERA, 47 K, 1.06 WHIP in 68.0 IP over 12 games at Indianapolis and was 10-7, 3.22 ERA, 100 K, 1.17 WHIP in 117.1 IP over 19 games with the Pirates.

The Cleveland Indians drafted shortstop Lonnie Chisenhall 29th out of Pitt Community College. He split 2013 between Triple A Columbus and the Indians. He hit .390/.456/.676 with 6 HR, 26 RBI, 21 R, 2 SB in 27 games at Columbus and hit .225/.270/.398 with 11 HR, 36 RBI, 30 R, 1 SB in 94 games with the Indians.
