Mark Prior retires

Mark Prior announced his retirement from playing baseball in December 2013. Prior was a RHP with five seasons MLB experience pitching with the Cubs (2002-2006). He had several injuries and was trying a comeback and in 2013 pitched at Triple A Louisville of the Reds. He was 0-0, 4.66 ERA, 9 K, 1.34 WHIP in 9.2 IP over 7 games at Louisville. For his MLB career he was 42-29, 3.51 ERA, 757 K, 1.23 WHIP in 657.0 IP over 106 games. He was originally drafted by the Cubs with the second pick of the first round in 2001 out of the University of Southern California. Prior was 33 when he retired with his last birthday on September 7th.
