2013 Where are they now 2012 MLB draft picks 32 to 40

The 2013 season is behind us and I'm checking how picks 32 to 40 of the 2012 draft did this season. Traditionally players drafted out of college advance faster than those drafted out of high school and pitchers usually advance faster than position players. Some players might also be traded to help their team get an established player that can help their team improve immediately.

The Minnesota Twins drafted RHP Jose Berrios 32nd out of Papa Juan High School in Bayamon, PR. He pitched in 2013 at Class A Cedar Rapids. He was 7-7, 3.99 ERA, 100 K, 1.40 WHIP in 103.2 IP over 19 games.

The San Diego Padres drafted RHP Zach Eflin 33rd out of Hagerty High School in Oviedo, FL. He pitched in 2013 at Class A Fort Wayne. He was 7-6, 2.73 ERA, 86 K, 1.19 WHIP in 118.2 IP over 22 games.

The Oakland Athletics drafted third baseman Daniel Robertson 34th out of Upland High School in Upland, CA. He played in 2013 at Class A Beloit. He hit .277/.353/.401 with 9 HR, 46 RBI, 59 R, 1 SB in 101 games.

The New York Mets drafted catcher Kevin Plawecki 35th out of Purdue. He split 2013 between Class A Savannah and Class A Advanced St Lucie. He hit .314/.390/.494 with 6 HR, 43 RBI, 35 R, 1 SB in 65 games at Savannah and hit .294/.391/.392 with 2 HR, 37 RBI, 25 R, 0 SB in 60 games at St Lucie.

The St Louis Cardinals drafted third baseman Stephen Piscotty 36th out of Stanford. He split 2013 between Class A Advanced Palm Beach and Double A Springfield. He hit .292/.348/.477 with 9 HR, 35 RBI, 30 R, 4 SB in 63 games and hit .299/.364/.446 with 6 HR, 24 RBI, 17 R, 7 SB in 49 games at Springfield.

The Boston Red Sox drafted RHP Pat Light 37th out of Monmouth. He split 2013 between Rookie Gulf Coast and Class A Greenville. He was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 3 K, 1.00 WHIP in 6.0 IP over 3 games at Gulf Coast and was 1-4, 8.89 ERA, 28 K, 2.05 WHIP in 28.1 IP over 10 games at Greenville.

The Milwaukee Brewers drafted outfielder Mitch Haniger 38th out of Cal Poly. He split 2013 between Class A Wisconsin and Class A Advanced Brevard County. He hit .297/.399/.510 with 5 HR, 25 RBI, 24 R, 7 SB in 41 games at Wisconsin and hit .250/.323/.396 with 6 HR, 43 RBI, 52 R, 2 SB in 88 games at Brevard County.

The Texas Rangers drafted third baseman Joey Gallo 39th out of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, NV. He split 2013 between Rookie Arizona and Class A Hickory. He hit .368/.429/.895 with 2 HR, 10 RBI, 4 R, 1 SB in 5 games at Arizona and hit .245/.334/.610 with 38 HR, 78 RBI, 82 R, 14 SB in 106 games at Hickory.

The Philadelphia Phillies drafted RHP Shane Watson 40th out of Lakewood High School in Lakewood, CA. He pitched in 2013 at Class A Lakewood. He was 4-6, 4.75 ERA, 53 K, 1.26 WHIP in 72.0 IP over 16 games.
