Craig Gentry traded to Athletics

Craig Gentry was traded by the Texas Rangers to the Oakland Athletics on December 3, 2013 along with Josh Lindblom. In exchange the Rangers received Michael Choice and Chris Bostick.

Gentry is an outfielder with five seasons MLB experience playing with the Rangers. He split 2013 between Triple A Frisco while rehabbing and the Rangers. He hit .231/.267/.308 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 4 games at Frisco and hit .280/.373/.386 with 2 HR, 22 RBI, 39 R, 24 SB in 106 games with the Rangers. For his MLB career he has hit .280/.355/.366 with 4 HR, 65 RBI, 104 R, 56 SB in 323 games. He was originally drafted by the Rangers in the tenth round in 2006. Gentry turned 30 on November 29.

RHP Lindblom has three seasons MLB experience pitching with the Rangers, Phillies and Dodgers. He split 2013 between Triple A Frisco and the Rangers. He was 8-4, 3.08 ERA, 79 K, 1.08 WHIP in 20 games at Frisco and was 1-3, 5.46 ERA, 21 K, 1.47 WHIP in 31.1 IP over 8 games with the Rangers. For his MLB career he is 5-8, 3.82 ERA, 119 K, 1.31 WHIP, 1 SV in 132.0 IP over 109 games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the second round in 2008. He was traded to the Phillies in July 2012. He was traded to the Rangers in December 2012. Lindblom turned 26 on June 15.

Choice is an outfielder who split 2013 between Triple A Sacramento and Athletics. He hit .302/.390/.445 with 14 HR, 89 RBI, 90 R, 1 SB in 132 games at Sacramento and hit .278/.316/.333 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 9 games with the Athletics. He was originally drafted by the Athletics with the tenth pick of the first round in 2010. Choice turned 24 on November 10.

Bostick is a second baseman who played in 2013 at Class A Beloit. He hit .282/.354/.452 with 14 HR, 89 RBI, 75 R, 25 SB in 129 games. He was originally drafted by the Athletics in the 44th round in 2011. Bostick turned 20 on March 24.
