Shane Victorino traded to Dodgers

Shane Victorino was traded by the Philadelphia Phillies to the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 31, 2012. In exchange the Phillies received Josh Lindblom, Ethan Martin and a player to be named later or cash.


Victorino is an outfielder in this eighth MLB season playing with the Phillies and Padres. In 2012 he was hitting .261/.324/.401 with 9 HR, 40 RBI, 46 R, 24 SB in 101 games with Philadelphia. For his MLB career he has hit .277/.342/.434 with 88 HR, 394 RBI, 590 R, 186 SB in 1023 games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the sixth round in 1999. Victorino will be 32 on November 30.


RHP Lindblom is in his second MLB season both with the Dodgers. In 2012 he was 2-2 with a 3.02 ERA, 43 K, 1.26 WHIP in 47.2 IP over 48 games with Los Angeles. For his MLB career he is 3-2 with a 2.91 ERA, 71 K, 1.18 WHIP in 77.1 IP over 75 games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the second round in 2008. Lindblom turned 25 on June 15.


RHP Martin was pitching with the Dodgers Double A team in Chattanooga. In 2012 he was 8-6 with a 3.58 ERA, 112 K, 1.27 WHIP in 118.0 IP over 20 games with Chattanooga. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers with the 15th pick of the first round in 2008. Martin turned 23 on June 6th.
