Stephen Drew was traded by the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Oakland Athletics on August 20, 2012. In exchange the Diamondbacks received Sean Jamieson.
Drew is a shortstop in his seventh MLB season all with the Diamondbacks. In 2012 he was hitting .193/.290/.311 with 2 HR, 12 RBI, 17 R, 0 SB in 40 games with Arizona. For his MLB career he has hit .266/.328/.436 with 72 HR, 333 RBI, 393 R, 33 SB in 773 games. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks with the 15th pick of the first round in 2004. Drew turned 29 on March 16.
Jamieson is a shortstop who was playing with the Athletics Class A team in Burlington. In 2012 he was hitting .234/.345/.379 with 10 HR, 49 RBI, 71 R, 25 SB in 119 games with Burlington. He was originally drafted by the Athletics in the 17th round in 2011. Jamieson turned 23 on March 2nd.
