Mike Zunino had an uneventful Double A debut with the Jackson Generals on August 14. He was 0 for 2 with a walk while playing catcher in the first game of a double header against the Mississippi Braves. Mississippi won the game 4-2. He did not play in the second game of the double header.
He is already on the fast track after being taken by the Mariners third over all a couple months ago in the 2012 MLB draft. After he signed he started his pro career with the Mariners Class A team in Everett where he hit .373/.474/.736 with 10 HR, 35 RBI, 29 R, 1 SB in 29 games. Zunino turned 21 on March 25.
