Tyler Skaggs wins MLB debut 082212

Tyler Skaggs of the Arizona Diamondbacks won his MLB debut with a 3-2 victory over the Miami Marlins on August 22. His line for the game was 6.2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 5 BB, 4 K in 99 pitches. He had split 2012 between Double A Mobile and Triple A Reno before the call up. The LHP was 5-4 with 2.84 ERA, 71 K, 1.21 WHIP in 69.2 IP over 13 games with Mobile and was 4-2 with a 2.91 ERA, 45 K, 1.23 WHIP in 52.2 IP over 9 games with Reno. He was originally drafted by the Angels with the 40th pick of the first round in 2009. Skaggs turned 21 on July 13.
