Steve Pearce traded to Yankees
Steve Pearce was traded by the Houston Astros to the New York Yankees on August 27, 2012 in exchange for cash. He has six seasons of MLB experience playing with the Astros, Orioles and Pirates. The 1B\OF had started 2012 with the Yankees Triple A team in Scranton\Wilkes Barre after signing with the Yankees in March, was traded to the Orioles in June and selected by the Astros off waivers in July. He hit .318/.419/.568 with 11 HR, 30 RBI, 37 R, 3 SB in 53 games with Scranton\Wilkes Barre, hit .254/.321/.437 with 3 HR, 14 RBI, 8 R, 0 SB in 28 games with Baltimore and hit .254/.347/.349 with 0 HR, 8 RBI, 2 R, 1 SB in 21 games with Houston. For his MLB career he has hit .237/.309/.372 with 12 HR, 74 RBI, 60 R, 6 SB in 234 games. He was originally drafted by the Pirates in the eighth round in 2005. Pearce turned 29 on April 13.
