Ryan Verdugo traded to Red Sox
Ryan Verdugo of the Kansas City Royals was traded to the Boston Red Sox on July 16, 2014 in exchange for cash. The LHP prior to the trade pitched at Triple A Omaha where he was 5-2, 4.24 ERA, 44 K, 1.11 WHIP in 46.2 IP over 9 games. He did have an MLB appearance with the Royals in 2012 when he was 0-1, 32.40 ERA, 2 K, 6.00 WHIP in 1.2 IP in 1 game. He was originally drafted by the Giants in the ninth round in 2008 and was traded to the Royals in 2011. Verdugo turned 27 on April 10.
