Manny Pina traded to Tigers

Manny Pina was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Detroit Tigers on June 11, 2014 for a player to be named later. The catcher split 2014 between Double A Jackson and Triple A Tacoma prior to the trade as he hit .279/.362/.443 with 2 HR, 10 RBI, 11 R, 0 SB in 17 games at Jackson and .214/.214/.286 with 0 HR, 3 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 4 games at Tacoma. He does have limited MLB experience over two seasons with the Royals as he hit .188/.235/.313 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 5 games. He originally signed with the Rangers in 2004 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Pina turned 27 on June 5th.
