Adron Chambers traded to Blue Jays

Adron Chambers was traded by the Houston Astros to the Toronto Blue Jays on June 12, 2014. In exchange the Astros received Alejandro Solarte and Will Dupont. 

Chambers is an outfielder who played at Triple A Oklahoma City prior to the trade and hit .281/.356/.416 with 2 HR, 15 RBI, 14 R, 1 SB in 25 games. He did have three seasons of limited MLB experience with the St Louis Cardinals as he hit .216/.289/.295 with 0 HR, 9 RBI, 11 R, 2 SB in 84 games. He was originally drafted by the Cardinals in the 38th round in 2007. Chambers will be 28 on October 8th.

LHP Solarte had not pitched in 2014 prior to the trade but in 2013 at Rookie Gulf Coast was 1-1, 2.96 ERA, 15 K, 1.36 WHIP in 24.1 IP over 9 games. He originally signed with the Blue Jays in 2011 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Solarte will be 20 on September 22.

Dupont is a second baseman who had not played in 2014 prior to the trade but in 2013 at Rookie Gulf Coast he hit .262/.338/.311 with 0 HR, 10 RBI, 13 R, 3 SB in 26 games. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the 16th round in 2012. Dupont will be 21 on December 1st.
