Mike Yastrzemski hits for cycle vs Hillcats 070514
Mike Yastrzemski of the Frederick Keys hit for the cycle in a 17-3 victory over the Lynchburg Hillscats on July 5, 2014. Frederick is the Class A Advanced team of the Baltimore Orioles. For the game he was 5 for 6 with two doubles, a triple, a home run, 5 RBI and 3 runs while hitting lead off and started in center field before moving to left field. He singled in the first inning, doubled in the second, hit a 2-run home run in the fifth, doubled in the seventh and tripled in the ninth. He has split 2014 between Class A Delmarva and Frederick as he hit .306/.365/.554 with 10 HR, 44 RBI, 52 R, 12 SB in 63 games at Delmarva and has hit .321/.379/.482 with 1 HR, 12 RBI, 13 R, 4 SB in 15 games at Frederick. He is the grandson of Hall of Fame and Boston Red Sox legend Carl Yastrzemski. He was originally drafted by the Orioles in the 14th round in 2013. Yastrzemski will be 24 on August 23.
