This is the 14th segment of 2014 as I continue to follow Bubba Starling and Fred Ford as they make their way up the minor league ranks of the Kansas City Royals. Starling starts off 2014 at Class A Advanced Wilmington as the Red Rocks were 33-35 in the first half and are 14-14 in the second half. Ford is repeating time at Class A Lexington as the Legends finished the first half 29-41 and are 11-18 in the second half.
Bubba didn't have much luck at the plate this week hitting 2 for 17 with 1 HR, 1 RBI, 3 R, 1 SB in 6 games. This season he is hitting .209/.293/.333 with 7 HR, 43 RBI, 50 R, 11 SB in 92 games.
Fred actually fared worse hitting 1 for 15 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 5 games. This season he is hitting .209/.296/.350 with 7 HR, 39 RBI, 39 R, 8 SB in 88 games.
