Ronny Cedeno traded to Diamondbacks

Ronny Cedeno was traded by the Philadelphia Phillies to the Arizona Diamondbacks on June 29, 2014. In exchange the Phillies received Raywilly Gomez.

Cedeno is a SS\2B who prior to the trade split 2014 between Triple A Lehigh Valley and the Phillies. He hit .286/.327/.367 with 1 HR, 20 RBI, 10 R, 0 SB in 42 games at Lehigh Valley and .000/.000/.000 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 0 R, 0 SB in 7 games with the Phillies. Over his ten season MLB career with the Phillies, Padres, Astros, Mets, Pirates, Mariners and Cubs he has hit .245/.289/.353 with 40 HR, 239 RBI, 265 R, 39 SB in 875 games. He originally signed with the Cubs in 1999 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Cedeno turned 31 on February 2nd.

Gomez is a C\3B who was a Double A Mobile prior to the trade where he hit .273/.355/.360 with 3 HR, 22 RBI, 16 R, 0 SB in 55 games. He originally signed with the Diamondbacks in 2007 as a non-drafted free agent. Gomez turned 24 on January 25.
