Michael Taylor traded to White Sox

Michael Taylor was traded by the Oakland Athletics to the Chicago White Sox on June 14, 2014. In exchange the Athletics received Jake Sanchez.

Taylor is an outfielder who played prior to the trade at Triple A Sacramento and hit .243/.357/.385 with 5 HR, 31 RBI, 34 R, 7 SB in 59 games. He did have three seasons of limited MLB experience with the Athletics as he hit .135/.210/.189 with 1 HR, 1 RBI, 6 R, 0 SB in 26 games. He was originally drafted by the Phillies in the fifth round in 2007. Taylor turned 28 on December 19.

RHP Sanchez was at Class A Kannapolis prior to the trade where he was 5-4, 2.80 ERA, 66 K, 1.15 WHIP, 3 SV in 61.0 IP over 15 games. He originally signed with the White Sox in 2013 as a non-drafted free agent. Sanchez will be 25 on August 19.
