Felix Doubront traded to Cubs

Felix Doubront was traded by the Boston Red Sox to the Chicago Cubs on July 30, 2014 for a player to be named later. LHP Doubront had split 2014 between Double A Portland, Triple A Pawtucket and the Red Sox. He was 0-0, 4.50 ERA, 2 K, 1.00 WHIP in 4.0 IP in 1 game at Portland, 0-0, 1.86 ERA, 13 K, 1.14 WHIP in 9.2 IP over 2 games at Pawtucket and 2-4, 6.07 ERA, 43 K, 1.60 WHIP in 59.1 IP over 17 games with the Red Sox. Over five MLB seasons with the Red Sox he was 26-22, 4.82 ERA, 378 K, 1.48 WHIP, 3 SV in 418.0 IP over 98 games. He originally signed with the Red Sox in 2005 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Doubront will be 27 on October 23.
