Andrew Miller traded to Orioles

Andrew Miller was traded by the Boston Red Sox to the Baltimore Orioles on July 31, 2014. The Red Sox in exchange received Eduardo Rodriguez.

LHP Miller was 3-5, 2.34 ERA, 69 K, 0.90 WHIP in 42.1 IP over 50 games with the Red Sox in 2014. Over nine MLB seasons with the Red Sox, Marlins and Tigers he was 28-38, 5.06 ERA, 456 K, 1.60 WHIP in 472.2 IP over 236 games. He was originally drafted by the Tigers with the sixth pick of the first round in 2006 and was traded to the Marlins in 2007 and then traded to the Red Sox in 2010. Miller turned 29 on May 21.

LHP Rodriguez was 3-7, 4.79 ERA, 69 K, 1.44 WHIP in 82.2 IP over 16 games at Double A Bowie in 2014. He originally signed with the Orioles in 2010 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Rodriguez turned 21 on April 7th.
