Kendrys Morales traded to Mariners

Kendrys Morales was traded by the Minnesota Twins to the Seattle Mariners on July 24, 2014. In exchange the Twins received Stephen Pryor.

Morales is a 1B\DH who hit .234/.259/.325 with 1 HR, 18 RBI, 12 R, 0 SB in 39 games with the Twins prior to the trade. Over eight MLB seasons with the Twins, Mariners and Angels he has hit .277/.328/.470 with 103 HR, 363 RBI, 292 R, 4 SB in 659 games. He originally signed with the Angels in 2005 as an amateur free agent out of Cuba. Morales turned 31 on June 20.

RHP Pryor split 2014 prior to the trade between Double A Jackson, Triple A Tacoma and the Mariners. He was 0-1, 14.73 ERA, 3 K, 2.18 WHIP in 3.2 IP over 4 games at Jackson, 2-1, 4.65 ERA, 27 K, 1.42 WHIP, 1 SV in 31.0 IP over 24 games at Tacoma and 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 K, 1.80 WHIP in 1.2 IP in 1 game with the Mariners. Over three MLB seasons with the Mariners he was 3-1, 2.81 ERA, 35 K, 1.31 WHIP in 32.0 IP over 34 games. He was originally drafted by the Mariners in the fifth round in 2010. Pryor turned 25 on July 23.
