Brandon McCarthy traded to Yankees

Brandon McCarthy was traded by the Arizona Diamondbacks to the New York Yankees on July 6, 2014. In exchange the Diamondbacks received Vidal Nuno.

RHP McCarthy was 3-10, 5.01 ERA, 93 K, 1.38 WHIP in 109.2 IP over 18 games with the Diamondbacks in 2014. For his nine season MLB career with the Diamondbacks, Athletics, Rangers and White Sox he is 46-60, 4.18 ERA, 628 K, 1.30 WHIP in 911.2 IP over 195 games. He was originally drafted by the White Sox in the 17th round in 2002. McCarthy turned 31 on July 7th. 

LHP Nuno was 2-5, 5.42 ERA, 60 K, 1.44 WHIP in 78.0 IP over 17 games with the Yankees in 2014. Over his two year MLB career he is 3-8, 4.58 ERA, 80 K, 1.32 WHIP in 110.0 IP over 24 games. He was originally drafted by the Indians in the 48th round in 2009. Nuno will be 27 on July 26.
