Wade Miley was traded by the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Boston Red Sox on December 12, 2014. In exchange the Diamondbacks received Rubby De La Rosa, Allen Webster and Raymel Flores.
LHP Miley in 2014 was 8-12, 4.34 ERA, 183 K, 1.40 WHIP, .269 BAA in 201.1 IP over 33 games with the Diamondbacks. Over four MLB seasons with the Diamondbacks he was 38-35, 3.79 ERA, 499 K, 1.32 WHIP, .264 BAA in 638.2 IP over 106 games. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks with the 43rd pick of the first round in 2008. Wiley turned 28 on November 13.
RHP De La Rosa split 2014 between Triple A Pawtucket and the Red Sox. He was 2-4, 3.45 ERA, 57 K, 1.25 WHIP, .229 BAA in 60.0 IP over 12 games at Pawtucket and 4-8, 4.43 ERA, 74 K, 1.49 WHIP, .293 BAA in 101.2 IP over 19 games with the Red Sox. Over four MLB seasons with the Red Sox and Dodgers he was 8-15, 4.34 ERA, 140 K, 1.46 WHIP, .277 BAA in 174.1 IP over 44 games. He originally signed with the Dodgers in 2007 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic and was traded to the Red Sox in 2012.. De La Rosa will be 26 on March 4th.
RHP Webster split 2014 between Triple A Pawtucket and the Red Sox. He was 4-4, 3.10 ERA, 100 K, 1.24 WHIP, .234 BAA, 1 SV in 122.0 IP over 21 games at Pawtucket and 5-3, 5.03 ERA, 36 K, 1.46 WHIP, .264 BAA in 59.0 IP over 11 games with the Red Sox. Over two MLB seasons with the Red Sox he was 6-5, 6.25 ERA, 59 K, 1.58 WHIP, .279 BAA in 89.1 IP over 19 games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the 18th round in 2008 and traded to the Red Sox in 2012. Webster turned 25 on February 10.
Flores is a SS\2B who in 2014 played at Class A Lowell where he hit .282/.344/.354 with 1 HR, 12 RBI, 31 R, 14 SB in 61 games. He originally signed with the Red Sox in 2011 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Flores will be 21 on September 22.
