Ross Detwiler traded to Rangers

Ross Detwiler was traded by the Washington Nationals to the Texas Rangers on December 12, 2014. In exchange the Nationals received Christopher Bostick and Abel De Los Santos.

LHP Detwiler in 2014 was 2-3, 4.00 ERA, 39 K, 1.41 WHIP, .282 BAA, 1 SV in 63.0 IP over 47 games with the Nationals. Over seven MLB seasons with the Nationals he was 20-32, 3.82 ERA, 285 K, 1.37 WHIP, .271 BAA, 1 SV in 471.0 IP over 132 games. He was originally drafted by the Nationals with the sixth pick of the first round in 2007. Detwiler will be 29 on March 6th.

Bostick is a 2B\SS who in 2014 played at Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach where he hit .251/.322/.412 with 11 HR, 62 RBI, 81 R, 24 SB in 130 games. He was originally drafted by the Athletics in the 44th round in 2011 and was traded to the Rangers in 2013. Bostick will be 22 on March 24.

RHP De Los Santos split 2014 between Class A Hickory and Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach. He was 0-1, 1.74 ERA, 12 K, 0.77 WHIP, .179 BAA in 10.2 IP over 8 games at Hickory and 5-2, 1.97 ERA, 53 K, 1.01 WHIP, .177 BAA, 8 SV in 45.2 IP over 33 games at Myrtle Beach. He originally signed with the Rangers in 2010 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. De Los Santos turned 22 on November 21.
