Travis Snider traded to Orioles

Travis Snider was traded by the Pittsburgh Pirates to the Baltimore Orioles on January 27, 2015. In exchange the Pirates received Stephen Tarpley and a PTBNL. Steven Brault was sent to the Pirates on February 20, 2015 to complete the deal.

Snider is an outfielder who in 2014 hit .264/.338/.438 with 13 HR, 48 RBI, 37 R, 1 SB in 140 games with the Pirates. Over seven MLB seasons with the Pirates, and Blue Jays he hit .246/.310/.406 with 50 HR, 184 RBI, 190 R, 21 SB in 543 games. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays with the 14th pick of the first round in 2006 and was traded to the Pirates in 2012. Snider turned 27 on February 2nd.

LHP Tarpley pitched in 2014 at Class A Aberdeen where he was 3-5, 3.68 ERA, 60 K, 1.41 WHIP, .279 BAA in 66.1 IP over 13 games. He was originally drafted by the Orioles in the third round in 2013. Tarpley turned 22 on February 17.

LHP Brault split 2014 between Class A Delmarva and Class A Advanced Frederick. He was 9-8, 3.05 ERA, 115 K, 1.04 WHIP, .227 BAA in 130.0 IP over 22 games at Delmarva and 2-0, 0.55 ERA, 9 K, 0.55 WHIP, .127 BAA in 16.1 IP over 3 games at Frederick. He was originally drafted by the Orioles in the 11th round in 2013. Brault will be 23 on April 29.
