Juan Nicasio traded to Dodgers

Juan Nicasio was traded by the Colorado Rockies to the Los Angeles Dodgers on November 25, 2014 for a PTBNL. On December 16 the Rockies received Noel Cuevas to complete the deal.

RHP Nicasio split 2014 between Triple A Colorado Springs and the Rockies as he was 3-2, 4.54 ERA, 36 K, 1.57 WHIP, .304 BAA, 1 SV in 35.2 IP over 10 games at Colorado Springs and 6-6, 5.38 ERA, 63 K, 1.47 WHIP, .289 BAA in 93.2 IP over 33 games with the Rockies. Over four MLB seasons with the Rockies he was 21-22, 5.03 ERA, 294 K, 1.46 WHIP, .279 BAA in 381.0 IP over 88 games. He originally signed with the Rockies in 2006 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Nicasio will be 29 on August 31.

Cuevas is an outfielder who spent 2014 at Double A Chattanooga where he hit .231/.285/.351 with 7 HR, 44 RBI, 50 R, 6 SB in 131 games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the 21st round in 2010. Cuevas will be 24 on October 2nd.
