Hank Conger traded to Astros

Hank Conger was traded by the Los Angeles Angels to the Houston Astros on November 5, 2014. In exchange the Angels received Carlos Perez and Nick Tropeano.

Conger is a catcher who played with the Angels in 2014 and hit .221/.293/.325 with 4 HR, 25 RBI, 24 R, 0 SB in 80 games. Over five MLB seasons with the Angels he hit .224/.294/.353 with 17 HR, 71 RBI, 63 R, 0 SB in 251 games. His caught stealing rate for his MLB career is 22%. He was originally drafted by the Angels with the 25th pick of the first round in 2006. Conger turned 27 on Janaury 29.

Perez is a catcher who played at Triple A Oklahoma City in 2014 where he hit .259/.323/.385 with 6 HR, 34 RBI, 33 R, 3 SB in 88 games. His caught stealing rate was 32%. He originally signed with the Blue Jays in 2008 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Perez turned 24 on October 27.

RHP Tropeano split 2014 between Triple A Oklahoma City and he Astros as he was 9-5, 3.03 ERA, 120 K, 0.74 WHIP, .202 BAA in 124.2 IP over 23 games at Oklahoma City and 1-3, 4.57 ERA, 13 K, 0.63 WHIP, .241 BAA in 21.2 IP over 4 games with the Astros. He was originally drafted by the Astros in the fifth round in 2011. Tropeano will be 25 on August 27.
