Casey McGehee traded to Giants

Casey McGehee was traded by the Miami Marlins to the San Francisco Giants on December 20, 2014. In exchange the Marlins received Kendry Flores and Luis Castillo. 

McGehee is a 3B\1B who in 2014 hit .287/.355/.357 with 4 HR, 76 RBI, 56 R, 4 SB in 160 games with the Marlins. Over six MLB seasons with the Marlins, Yankees, Pirates, Brewers and Cubs he has hit .264/.324/.400 with 65 HR, 359 RBI, 267 R, 6 SB in 711 games. He was originally drafted by the Cubs in the 10th round in 2003. McGehee will be 33 on October 12.

RHP Flores pitched in 2014 at Class A Advanced San Jose where he was 4-6, 4.09 ERA, 112 K, 1.26 WHIP, .249 BAA in 105.2 IP over 20 games. He originally signed with the Giants in 2009 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Flores turned 23 on November 24.

RHP Castillo pitched in 2014 at Class A Augusta where he was 2-2, 3.07 ERA, 66 K, 1.38 WHIP, .247 BAA in 10 SV in 58.2 IP over 48 games. He originally signed with the Giants in 2011 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Castillo turned 22 on December 12.
