Futures Game 2014 US Team Outfield

The rosters have been revealed for the 2014 Futures Game to be played on July 13 at Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins. Every Major League team has at least one player on either the US or World roster and some teams have more than one. In this post I'll be going over the outfielders on the US team.

Josh Bell is a switch-hitting outfielder with Class A Advanced Bradenton of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He has hit .328/.375/.492 with 9 HR, 51 RBI, 43 R, 5 SB in 82 games at Bradenton. He was originally drafted in the second round in 2011. Bell will be 22 on August 14. He was born in Irving, Texas.

James Ramsey is a left-handed hitting outfielder with Double A Springfield of the St Louis Cardinals. He has hit .296/.379/.531 with 12 HR, 31 RBI, 40 R, 2 SB in 53 games at Springfield. He was originally drafted by the Cardinals with the 23th pick of the first round in 2012. Ramsey turned 24 on December 19. He was born in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Hunter Renfroe is a right-handed outfielder who has split 2014 between Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore and Double A San Antonio of the San Diego Padres. He has hit .295/.370/.565 with 16 HR, 52 RBI, 46 R, 9 SB in 69 games at Lake Elsinore and .190/.277/.452 with 3 HR, 7 RBI, 7 R, 0 SB in 12 games at San Antonio. He was originally drafted by the Padres with the 13th pick of the first round in 2013. Renfroe turned 22 on January 28. He was born in Crystal Springs, Mississippi.

Michael Taylor is a right-handed outfielder with Double A Harrisburg of the Washington Nationals. He has hit .324/.403/.545 with 18 HR, 54 RBI, 66 R, 27 SB in 87 games at Harrisburg. He was originally drafted by the Nationals in the sixth round in 2009. Taylor turned 23 on March 26. He was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Jesse Winker is a left-handed outfielder who has split 2014 between Class A Advanced Bakersfield and Double A Pensacola. He has hit .317/.426/.580 with 13 HR, 49 RBI, 42 R, 5 SB in 53 games at Bakerfield and .213/.326/.360 with 2 HR, 8 RBI, 15 R, 0 SB in 20 games at Pensacola. He was originally drafted by the Reds with the 49th pick of the first round in 2012. Winker will be 21 on August 17. He was born in Windermere, Florida.
