Prince Fielder traded to Rangers

Prince Fielder was traded by the Detroit Tigers to the Texas Rangers on November 20, 2013. In exchange the Tigers received Ian Kinsler.

Fielder is a first baseman with nine seasons of MLB experience playing with the Tigers and Brewers. In 2013 he hit .279/.362/.457 with 25 HR, 106 RBI, 82 R, 1 SB in 162 games. For his MLB career he has hit .286/.389/.527 with 285 HR, 870 RBI, 736 R, 18 SB in 1322 games. He was originally drafted by the Brewers with the seventh pick of the first round in 2002. Fielder turned 29 on May 9th.

Kinsler is a second baseman with eight seasons of MLB experience playing all with the Rangers. In 2013 he hit .277/.344/.413 with 13 HR, 72 RBI, 85 R, 15 SB in 136 games. For his MLB career he has hit .273/.349/.454 with 156 HR, 539 RBI, 748 R, 172 SB in 1066 games. He was originally drafted by the Rangers in the 17th round in 2003. Kinsler turned 31 on June 22.
