The New York Mets selected the contracts of Steven Matz from Class A Savannah, Jeff Walters and Erik Goeddel from Double A Binghamton and Jacob deGrom from Triple A Las Vegas and placed them on the Mets 40 man roster. The move was made to protect the players from the upcoming Rule 5 draft on December 12.
