Robert P Doerr was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1986 along with Ernest Lombardi and Willie McCovey. Doerr was a second baseman with 14 seasons MLB experience playing all with the Boston Red Sox (1937-1944, 1946-1951). He missed the 1945 season while serving with the United States Army during World War II. For his MLB career he hit .288/.362/.461 with 223 HR, 1247 RBI, 1094 R, 54 SB in 1865 games.
I believe his three best seasons were 1950 when he hit .294/.367/.519 with 27 HR, 120 RBI, 103 R, 3 SB in 149 games, 1946 when he hit .271/.346/.453 with 18 HR, 116 RBI, 95 R, 5 SB in 151 games and 1948 when he hit .285/.386/.505 with 27 HR, 111 RBI, 94 R, 3 SB in 140 games.
Doerr led the American League in triples in 1950 (11).
He was an All Star nine times (1941-1944, 1946-1951).
