Stephen Parker was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers from the Oakland Athletics on March 20 , 2013. In exchange the Athletics received Darren Byrd.
Parker is a third baseman who played 2012 at Triple A Sacramento. He hit .256/.327/.390 with 7 HR, 47 RBI, 43 R, 5 SB in 99 games. He was originally drafted by the Athletics in the fifth round in 2009. Parker turned 25 on September 3rd.
Byrd is a RHP who pitched 2012 at Double A Huntsville. He was 3-5 with a 2.59 ERA, 71 K, 1.29 WHIP, 6 SV in 73.0 IP over 50 games. He was originally drafted by the Phillies in the 18th round in 2005. Byrd turned 26 on October 24.
