Ben Taylor was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 2006 along with Raymond Brown, Willard Brown, Andy Cooper, Franklin Grant, Pete Hill, Biz Mackey, Effa Manley, Jose Mendez, Alex Pompez, Cum Posey, Louis Santop, Bruce Sutter, Mule Suttles, Cristobal Torriente, Solomon White, JL Wilkinson and Jud Wilson. Taylor was inducted by the Negro League Committee. He was a first baseman who played for Birmingham Giants (1908-1909), West Baden Sprudels (1910-1913), St Louis Giants (1911-1912), New York Giants (1912), Chicago American Giants (1913-1914), Indianapolis ABCs (1914-1918, 1920-1922), Jewell's ABCs of Indianapolis (1919), Atlantic City Bacharach Giants (1919, 1929), Washington Potomacs (1923-1924), Harrisburg Giants (1925) and Baltimore Black Sox (1926-1928). While incomplete the stats show in league he hit .339/.401/.468 with 23 HR, 532 RBI, 473 R, 97 SB.
He also served as manager for the Washington Potomacs (1923-1924), Baltimore Black Sox (1926-1928), Washington Pilots (1932), Brooklyn Eagles (1935) and Washington Black Senators (1938).
